FISCAL SPONSORSHIP
WHAT IS FISCAL SPONSORSHIP
Fiscal Sponsorship is when a tax-exempt organization (with non-profit status) accepts and manages funds for a third party. The benefit of working with a fiscal
sponsor is that it allows an individual to receive money from a donor while the donor receives a tax write-off.
WHO CAN APPLY FOR FISCAL SPONSORSHIP
Person(s) working on a not for profit endeavor - academic assignment, film/documentary, creative project, charity/academic event, etc.
TO APPLY FOR FISCAL SPONSORSHIP
1) Submit a 1 page proposal (via email) that includes: a summary of your project (250 words or less), estimated budget, approximate length, contact information
(name, address, & phone number), attach academic transcript (only if you are a student) & digital scans of: photo id & student id (only if you are a student)
2) Submit a $30 Application Fee via PayPal to: info@usccof.org
AFTER YOUR APPLICATION IS APPROVED
1) Donors can contribute via PayPal/Credit Card (by clicking the ‘Donate’ Button on this website), check (payable to USC CINEMA OUTREACH FOUNDATION)
or Cash. We do not accept electronic transfers or direct deposits.
2) We will deduct a 5% fee (which is used to support our charity) and mail the applicant a Check for the remaining amount - 95% of the Donation
3) We will mail the Donor a Tax Deductible Receipt so they can earn a ‘Tax write-off’
GENERAL RULES
1) If a Donor wants a to earn a a ‘Tax write-off”, their donation must must exceed $100
2) Applicants must be working on a noncommercial project, meaning your check(s) must arrive as a donation(s). If your Donor(s) expects a
financial return, your application will be disqualified.
3) Students working on assignments must adhere to all academic guidelines.
